Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

Motor Vehicle Safety Warning: Never use, enter data into, or configure this application while driving or operating any motor vehicle. Always input odometer readings, fuel amounts, and maintenance logs only when your vehicle is safely stationary and parked.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Fuel Tracker application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the application.

2. Description of the Service

Fuel Tracker is a digital utility designed to help drivers log vehicle refueling events, track maintenance procedures, estimate fuel efficiency (km/L), review spending trends, and receive proximity-based service reminder notifications. The service is accessible locally through modern web browsers and can optionally sync records via cloud authentication.

3. Informational Purposes & Automotive Disclaimer

All calculations provided by Fuel Tracker—including fuel mileage, distance driven, cost per liter, total expenses, and service reminder alerts—are automated mathematical estimates calculated strictly from user-provided inputs.

  • This application does not connect to your vehicle's On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) port or official sensors.
  • Service alerts are calculated based on user-entered kilometer intervals and do not substitute for official vehicle owner's manuals, authorized manufacturer warranty requirements, or certified mechanic evaluations.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring your vehicle is operated and maintained in a safe, roadworthy condition.

4. User Accounts and Data Responsibility

If you register an account to enable multi-device cloud synchronization, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Because unauthenticated local usage relies on browser local storage, you are encouraged to regularly export your data to CSV format to prevent accidental data loss caused by clearing browser cache or changing devices.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful or malicious purpose.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable burden on the cloud infrastructure or Firebase backend services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any other user's account, data, or network systems.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from data loss.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the authors, contributors, or service providers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including without limitation vehicle damage, mechanical failure, missed maintenance services, loss of data, or accidents—arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the service.

8. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the service following any updates signifies your agreement to the modified terms. We also reserve the right to discontinue or modify the service or user accounts at our discretion.

9. Contact Information
